Local on your own Mac, afk for one person and a machine that is not it, and Business for a workspace with other people in it. One price a machine, and on Business the people are free.
Three plans. One is free and runs on your own Mac; the other two are bought with
a button.
This page is what each plan is. The numbers are on
what it costs, so that a price is written down once.
Local
Free, on your own Mac. One press to sign in, one to set the Mac up, and no
card. It builds your product — the repository, the branches, the terminal —
and crew works across every CLI you have signed in.
beafk on your Mac is the install.
Three things are not on it. Writing the pages for your site and writing the
posts are afk, whole: not the sending half of them, the work itself. A free
machine is opened from that computer — the phone is the other half of what
the paid plan is called after. However many of your own computers you
connect, they stay Local. See Local for what it does and
does not do, said in full.
afk
One person, and as many machines as you like at one price each. Everything
Local does, and then the parts that need something answering while you are not
there:
- a machine that is not your Mac — a VPS, an office box, a spare laptop
- all of it from a phone: the chat, the diff, the terminal, the settings
- the pages for your site and the week of posts — written, and then sent at
their time with nobody watching
- Claude, GPT, Grok and Kimi — the real tools, on your own
subscriptions, with no resold tokens
- tool servers, skills and
commands, described once and synced to every agent
- a git client: branches, diffs, push — and a chat beside the diff
that does the merge
- sketches you pick from with a thumb, and
renders that come back in the thread rather than
as a file you go and find
- no agent writing over another, on by default
- what the agents spent, by model
- agents that survive a dropped connection, a closed tab and an update
- email support
A second machine is bought one at a time and quoted on the screen first, and
there is no limit on how many.
Your first machine is free for seven days, with no card.
Start the seven days
afk is a plan for one person. There is nobody to invite onto it. The invite
dialog says so before you type an address, and what it offers is Business rather
than a checkout — what is in the way is which plan this is, so paying for afk
again would not move it. See inviting people.
Business
The same product, for a workspace with other people in it. What it adds is all
of it the workspace and none of it the machine:
- as many people as you like, and free — see below
- admin and member roles
- per-machine grants, full or read-only
- access audit, hash-chained
- a signed audit anchor you can keep
- audit export
- priority email support
The price is the workspace, not the machine. The base carries one machine,
and the next one costs what a machine costs on afk rather than what the base
costs — quoted on the screen before you press anything, like every other
machine.
Business is not the old Team plan renamed. Team was sold by the seat, a seat
being one person and one computer, and it is gone. Here a person is not
something that can be bought at any price.
The people are free
On Business, invite as many people as you like. Nobody is a line on the
bill.
A colleague you invite costs nothing, today and at the renewal. There is no
count to watch and no screen that asks you to buy somebody before they can be
added. What you pay for is the workspace and the machines connected to it, and
inviting a person does not connect one.

Crew is on every plan
You talk to one agent, it hands pieces to the right CLIs, and every result
comes back to the same thread. No plan withholds that — Local included. See

What is not in any of them
The models and the servers — neither is ours to sell, and neither is marked up
here. What you are charged for and what you are not is
what it costs.
